Inter School Competition (28th January, 2009)

An Inter school Competitions were organized on 28th January, 2009. The main theme of the competitions was 300 year "GURUTA GADDI DIWAS". Students from surrounding schools participated in this competition of declamation, poem , kawishri and poster making. Shri Lok Nath, Dr. Kuldeep Kaur Mann were chief guests on this occasion.

International Workshop(17th January, 2009)






One day International Workshop on ‘Instructional Design: Context Based Learning’ was organized in our college. It was inaugurated by Dr. Shivinder Singh Gill, Vice Chancellor, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot (Punjab). The resource persons for this workshop were Professor Roberta Altman from Bank Street College of Education and American Museum of Natural History, New York (USA) and Mrs. J. Kiran Ghera Principal Doraha College of Education.

The first session of workshop began with the candle light ceremony and the formal presentation of bouquets and memorable tokens of love. Almost 50 fifty delegates from different states, schools and colleges and thirty students from Dasmesh Girls Sen. Sec. School, Badal attended the workshop. First of all keynote address was given by Professor Roberta Altman and then the Chief Guest Dr. Shivinder Singh addressed the audience.
After tea break there was an interaction session with the students and they were taken to the field trip after dividing them into three groups. One group that included delegates and students was taken to the Kinnu washing, processing and packaging unit and second group was taklen to a construction site and third group was taken to a park and play ground. There the students observed the surroundings keenly and noted down each and every thing by using their five senses. They asked questions and gave their suggestions to make these surrounding a better place. After lunch technical session began with the teachers and delegates asking their suggestions and views about their observation of student learning. In the second technical session Dr. Kiran Gera and Prof. Robert Altman interacted with delegates about national curriculum framework and to use natural things and community resources in our daily teaching. She also told us to use Indian crafts and personal objects in teaching and learning effectively.
Everybody enjoyed the workshop and the way Prof. Robert was interacting with the delegates. She was full of energy and enthusiasm throughout the workshop. In the end Principal Dr. S.S. Sangha thanked the guests and all the delegates from schools and colleges.

Gurupurab Celebrations












Celebrating the Birthday of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji
Birthday of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji was celebrated on January 5th, 2009 by our college. On this occasion Akand Path was organized by college staff and students. Students took active participation in the event and prepared LANGAR for SANGAT. LANGAR was served to the SANGAT after the final celebration of BHOG. Principal Dr. S.S. Sangha shared his valuable views related to the great martyar. Students recited Shabad on this occasion. Ms. Simerjeet and Mrs. Sukhdeep organized the stage with great confidence.

Organization of NSS Camp
















First Day (Inauguration)
NSS Unit of Dasmesh Girls College of Education – BADAL organized a 7 days NSS camp on the theme “Healthy Youth for Healthy India” from 14th Dec to 20th Dec., 2008. Mr. Lakhbir Singh, Miss Jyotika and Ms. Lata Arora were program officers of the camp. Under the able guidance of Principal Dr. S.S. Sangha the camp was successfully organized. Total 100 volunteers attended the camp.The camp was inaugurated by Sh. Rajat Aggarwal, Deputy Commissioner, Muktsar on 14th Dec., 2008. A Free medical checkup camp was also organized by N.S.S volunteers. In this camp a team of six doctors including Dr. Raman Gupta – Dentist, Dr. Puneet Goyal – Dentist, Dr. Amrit Sethi – eye specialist and Dr. Shakuntla Aggarwal – Gynecologist offered their free services. Free Medicines were also distributed to the patients. In the inauguration function Sh. Rajat Aggarwal expressed his views and motivated students to work hard for the noble cause of society.
2nd day activities
NSS Volunteers took initiative to clean the surroundings of the college campus on the second day of the NSS camp. Cleanliness committee of NSS unit shouldered the responsibility to clean the playground area, drainage system outside the college campus and surrounding area of girls’ hostel. Mess committee prepared tea, lunch and refreshments for NSS volunteers and staff members of the college.
In the evening session an extension lecture on “Spiritual Health” was organized. Brahamkumaris Shikha and Rajni from Giddarbaha town visited the college campus and expressed their views on “Spiritual Health”. In the end guests were honoured by vice principal Madam Vanita and staff members of the college. On this occasion Ms. Lata Arora conducted the stage.
3rd day activities
On the third day, NSS volunteers took the responsibility of cleaning the civil hospital along with the surrounding area of the hospital. In the evening session, an extension lecture was organized on the topic “Yoga Education”. NSS volunteers took the privilege to clean the old age home located in village Badal. They cleaned the lawn area along with rooms with utmost care and interest. Old grand parents like people gave their blessings to the volunteers and offered them “KINNUs” to show their gratitude.
In the evening session an extension lecture on YOGA was organized by program officers to improve the physical health of NSS volunteers. Yog guru Sh. Yogi Hari visited the college campus to deliver the lecture and impart his knowledge and experience to the students. The eminent speaker also told the NSS volunteers about the lessons he learnt in the whole life.As usual Mess Team prepared a delicious food for the devotee workers.
4th day activities
On the 4th day Volunteers cleaned and prepared the gardening field with a great hard work. They also cleaned the area behind seminar hall with utmost care.
In the evening session Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle, Giddarbaha organized a Movie Show. In this show NSS volunteers watched a Punjabi movie “Kambdi Kalai”. This movie motivated the volunteers towards the love for Punjabi Language and against the drug addiction. Volunteers enjoyed the movie very much. Volunteers of Mess group prepared the delicious food for the devotee workers and offered them with love and affection.
5th day activities
In the morning session An Eminent health specialist from Civil Hospital Badal Dr. Parshotam Singla visited college campus to deliver a lecture on Women Health. Dr. Parshotam explained the role of the Balanced Diet for a healthy life. He also answered some questions raised by audience regarding health. This lecture was of great use for the volunteers. After the completion of the lecture a token of love was presented by Principal and Staff of the college.
A trip to Milk Plant Verka and Chetak Park at Bathinda was also organized on the Fifth day of the camp. NSS Volunteers took keen interest in learning the process of creation of various milk products in Milk Plant. All the Volunteers were in very happy mood when they reached Chetak Park located in cantonment area of Bathinda Cantt.
6th day activities
On the 6th day of the camp NSS volunteers organized a rally to aware people regarding social evils like drug addiction, female foeticide, illiteracy etc. NSS volunteers prepared flags of slogans by hand with keen interest. The rally started from college campus and took the full round of the Badal village. NSS program co-ordinators Mr. Lakhbir Singh, Ms. Jyotika and Ms. Lata Arora organized the rally and gave directions to volunteers. Some staff members of the college also joined the rally and helped the volunteers to keep their voice high against the social evils. As usual mess committee shouldered the responsibility of preparing delicious food for the NSS volunteers and Staff of the college.
Closing Ceremony
On the closing ceremony S. Harpreet Singh MLA Malout was invited as the Chief Guest. A cultural programme was also organized. Programme started with the recitation of Shabad. The students enthralled the audience by their wonderful performance of Punjabi Folk Dance Luddi and Gidha. Amanjot and Navjot sang melodious songs. The students also read poems and speeches on burning issues of our society. N.S.S. Programme Officer Madam Lata read the 7 days report of the camp. Principal Dr. S.S.Sangha welcomed the chief Guest of the event and congratulated the student for the successful completion of the camp. The mess committee also kept everyone happy by cooking delicious food and by serving lovingly. S. Harpreet Singh MLA Malout also praised the N.S.S. VOLUNTEERS for their dedication and asked them to remember those values in their daily lives which are inculcated through these camps.

Talent Hunt Competitions - 2008-09





Talent Hunt Programme was organized in Dasmesh Girls College of Education, Badal. This Programme was organized to find out the hidden talents of the students. Dr. Malik, principal of Mata Jaswant Kaur Memorial Primary School, Badal was the chief guest. The programme was started with blessings of God by reciting shabad by Harshdeep and group. A wonderful performance was given by Amanjot, Navjot, Simerjeet, and Harshdeep in the form of folk songs and gazals. Hashdeep also played sitar. Rita, Harpreet, Gurpreet Navjot and Tiwncy presented poem and speech on different topics. Khushveer & group and Jyoti &group preformed skit and mime and showed their acting talent. There was a glimpse of Punjabi culture in presentation of dance & traditional songs by Payal, Garima, Sapna, Gurvinder and group. The spectators were spell bound by the presentation of ‘LACHA’ by Yousuf Ali & Sabar Ali, Inter varsity Gold Medalists. Gidha was presented in the end by Raman Sidhu and group. Dr. Malik while addressing the student said the girls have given wonderful performance and it shows that girls are not only at par with the boys , but better than boys. Dr. S.S. Sangha encouraged the girls by saying that these kind of programmes are helpful not only in discovering your talent but are also helpful in teaching profession and appreciated the chief guest for sparing his valuable time.

Dr. S.S. Sangha wins Senate Election of P.U. Chd.


Principal Dr.S.S.Sangha of Dasmesh Girls College of Education, Badal won senate elections from the constituency of principals of Technical and Professional  Colleges of Panjab University, Chandigarh consecutively third  time. He won this election in 2000 for the first time and in 2004 for the second time. For this victory he was congratulated by Honorable S.Parkash Singh Badal ji,Chief Minister Punjab. He was also congratulated by Dr.Deepak Manmohan, Convenor Bharitya Sahitya Academy, Dr. Jagdish Kaur Bains of Dev Samaj College of Education, Ferozpur, Principal S.Sukhdev Singh Brar of Khalsa College of Education, Muktsar, Dr. Khushwinder Kumar of BCM College of Education, Ludhiana, Dr.N.R. Sharma of Guru Gobind Singh College of Edcation, Gidderbaha, Dr. Sadhu Singh Dhaliwal of Lala Jagat Narayan College of Education, Jalalabad,Vipul  and S. Singh of Kenway College of Education, Abohar, Dr.Vinita Singh of D.A.V. College of Education, Abohar, Dr. H.S. Gosal of Govind National College Narangwal, Mrs. Ranjeet Kaur of Guruhersahya, Mr. Mukesh Kumar of Guru Ram Dass College of Education, Jalalabad and principals of various other technical and professional colleges. The principals of  Dasmesh Institutions , Badal Dr. Kuldeep Kaur Mann, Mrs. Jagdish Kaur Sidhu and Dr. Malik of Mata Jaswant Kaur Memorial Primary School,  Badal. On his arrival at the college campus, he was welcomed by the staff and students of college by presenting flowers. To celebrate the victory, a cake was cut by Dr.S.S.Sangha. Sweets were distributed among the students. All the staff members and students were very happy on the victory of Dr. S.S. Sangha.

Teacher’s Day Celebration


Teacher’s day was celebrated in Dasmesh Girls College of Education, Badal. On this occasion the principal Dr. S.S. Sangha and staff members of the college were present. First of all students gave a warm wrelcome to the principal and staff members with ‘Tilak Ceremony’. The programme was started with the recitation of ‘Shabad’ by Kulpreet and group. While addressing the students, principal Dr. S.S. Sangha congratulated the students on teachers day and exhorted them to follow the example of Great personality, Dr.Radhakrishanan. He also said that a good teacher should always be a learner. He gave the example of Newton, the great scientist, by saying that he always considered himself a learner.
On this occasion, the songs were presented by Amanjot and Navjot. Harpreet and group thrilled the audience by their dance. Speeches and poems were presented by Amandeep Gurpreet, Reetu, Manpreet and Renu. A funny quiz programme was oraganized by Priyanka,Twincy, Jyoti, Abhiruchi and sweta and games were also organized. Speaking on this occasion, Mrs Vanita Gupta advised the student to remain sincere to this profession. In the end, all the staff members and students enjoyed the dance.
