Organization of NSS Camp
















First Day (Inauguration)
NSS Unit of Dasmesh Girls College of Education – BADAL organized a 7 days NSS camp on the theme “Healthy Youth for Healthy India” from 14th Dec to 20th Dec., 2008. Mr. Lakhbir Singh, Miss Jyotika and Ms. Lata Arora were program officers of the camp. Under the able guidance of Principal Dr. S.S. Sangha the camp was successfully organized. Total 100 volunteers attended the camp.The camp was inaugurated by Sh. Rajat Aggarwal, Deputy Commissioner, Muktsar on 14th Dec., 2008. A Free medical checkup camp was also organized by N.S.S volunteers. In this camp a team of six doctors including Dr. Raman Gupta – Dentist, Dr. Puneet Goyal – Dentist, Dr. Amrit Sethi – eye specialist and Dr. Shakuntla Aggarwal – Gynecologist offered their free services. Free Medicines were also distributed to the patients. In the inauguration function Sh. Rajat Aggarwal expressed his views and motivated students to work hard for the noble cause of society.
2nd day activities
NSS Volunteers took initiative to clean the surroundings of the college campus on the second day of the NSS camp. Cleanliness committee of NSS unit shouldered the responsibility to clean the playground area, drainage system outside the college campus and surrounding area of girls’ hostel. Mess committee prepared tea, lunch and refreshments for NSS volunteers and staff members of the college.
In the evening session an extension lecture on “Spiritual Health” was organized. Brahamkumaris Shikha and Rajni from Giddarbaha town visited the college campus and expressed their views on “Spiritual Health”. In the end guests were honoured by vice principal Madam Vanita and staff members of the college. On this occasion Ms. Lata Arora conducted the stage.
3rd day activities
On the third day, NSS volunteers took the responsibility of cleaning the civil hospital along with the surrounding area of the hospital. In the evening session, an extension lecture was organized on the topic “Yoga Education”. NSS volunteers took the privilege to clean the old age home located in village Badal. They cleaned the lawn area along with rooms with utmost care and interest. Old grand parents like people gave their blessings to the volunteers and offered them “KINNUs” to show their gratitude.
In the evening session an extension lecture on YOGA was organized by program officers to improve the physical health of NSS volunteers. Yog guru Sh. Yogi Hari visited the college campus to deliver the lecture and impart his knowledge and experience to the students. The eminent speaker also told the NSS volunteers about the lessons he learnt in the whole life.As usual Mess Team prepared a delicious food for the devotee workers.
4th day activities
On the 4th day Volunteers cleaned and prepared the gardening field with a great hard work. They also cleaned the area behind seminar hall with utmost care.
In the evening session Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle, Giddarbaha organized a Movie Show. In this show NSS volunteers watched a Punjabi movie “Kambdi Kalai”. This movie motivated the volunteers towards the love for Punjabi Language and against the drug addiction. Volunteers enjoyed the movie very much. Volunteers of Mess group prepared the delicious food for the devotee workers and offered them with love and affection.
5th day activities
In the morning session An Eminent health specialist from Civil Hospital Badal Dr. Parshotam Singla visited college campus to deliver a lecture on Women Health. Dr. Parshotam explained the role of the Balanced Diet for a healthy life. He also answered some questions raised by audience regarding health. This lecture was of great use for the volunteers. After the completion of the lecture a token of love was presented by Principal and Staff of the college.
A trip to Milk Plant Verka and Chetak Park at Bathinda was also organized on the Fifth day of the camp. NSS Volunteers took keen interest in learning the process of creation of various milk products in Milk Plant. All the Volunteers were in very happy mood when they reached Chetak Park located in cantonment area of Bathinda Cantt.
6th day activities
On the 6th day of the camp NSS volunteers organized a rally to aware people regarding social evils like drug addiction, female foeticide, illiteracy etc. NSS volunteers prepared flags of slogans by hand with keen interest. The rally started from college campus and took the full round of the Badal village. NSS program co-ordinators Mr. Lakhbir Singh, Ms. Jyotika and Ms. Lata Arora organized the rally and gave directions to volunteers. Some staff members of the college also joined the rally and helped the volunteers to keep their voice high against the social evils. As usual mess committee shouldered the responsibility of preparing delicious food for the NSS volunteers and Staff of the college.
Closing Ceremony
On the closing ceremony S. Harpreet Singh MLA Malout was invited as the Chief Guest. A cultural programme was also organized. Programme started with the recitation of Shabad. The students enthralled the audience by their wonderful performance of Punjabi Folk Dance Luddi and Gidha. Amanjot and Navjot sang melodious songs. The students also read poems and speeches on burning issues of our society. N.S.S. Programme Officer Madam Lata read the 7 days report of the camp. Principal Dr. S.S.Sangha welcomed the chief Guest of the event and congratulated the student for the successful completion of the camp. The mess committee also kept everyone happy by cooking delicious food and by serving lovingly. S. Harpreet Singh MLA Malout also praised the N.S.S. VOLUNTEERS for their dedication and asked them to remember those values in their daily lives which are inculcated through these camps.
